Sandra Lex’s practice includes patent and trademark prosecution. Her patent practice is primarily focused in the fields of chemistry, mechanical arts, and medical devices. In addition to trademark prosecution, Ms. Lex’s trademark practice also includes advising clients regarding protecting and enforcing their trademark rights through monitoring the use of their marks on social media and the Internet. Ms. Lex is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Lex earned her BS degree, cum laude, in biomedical engineering with a concentration in biomaterials and tissue engineering from Drexel University. During her engineering studies, she was employed at several pharmaceutical companies where she gained experience with various different scientific aspects within the research and development field. In 2009, Ms. Lex earned her JD degree, cum laude, with a concentration in intellectual property law from the Thomas R. Kline School of Law at Drexel University.
Prior to joining Mendelsohn Dunleavy, Ms. Lex was an attorney at Flaster Greenberg, P.C., where she practiced in the intellectual property group and focused on patent and trademark prosecution, as well as trademark monitoring and enforcement. She was previously employed at the boutique intellectual property firm Muskin and Farmer as an associate attorney, and as a law clerk prior to becoming an attorney, where she practiced all aspects of patent, trademark, and copyright law for over six years.
